Fred Smith began his ministry in March of 2022 at GHF.  

Fred has been married to Diane for 50 years and they have four children, Stephen, Rebekah, Ruth Ann and Sharon.  Eight grandchildren fill out the Smith family.  Diane is the perfect pastor’s wife – full of energy and innovative ideas, always smiling and eager to serve the Lord with the folks she loves! 

Fred’s life history and experiences have been varied and successful:

• US Marine Corps Officer (1975-1986)

• Judge Advocate (1980-1986)

• Faculty & Corporate Counsel at Maranatha Baptist Bible College (1986-1992)

• Mayor of Watertown for 9 years (1992-2001)

• Watertown City Council for 14 years

• Pastor Watertown Community Church (2001-2018)
